DRAFT — legal and privacy review required before launch

This text is a working draft for review by the owner and qualified counsel. It is not a final, binding policy and has no effective date yet.

Who we are

TaxShifterPro is operated by [REVIEW REQUIRED: legal entity name, state of organization, mailing address]. TaxShifterPro is a technology marketplace connecting taxpayers with independent tax professionals. It is not affiliated with the IRS or any government agency.

Information we collect

Account information (email, display name, sign-in method). Professional application data (credentials, PTIN, license details and supporting documents) submitted by applicants. Content you post in the community. Support requests. Pro'Bot chat messages only if you turn on history. Technical data needed to run the service, such as sign-in session tokens stored in your browser.

The Tax Calculator Studio and the AI prep checklist do not save the numbers or answers you enter.

Tax return information (IRC §7216)

Federal law (Internal Revenue Code §7216 and Treasury Regulations §301.7216) restricts how tax return preparers use and disclose tax return information. Independent professionals you hire may be return preparers subject to those rules and must obtain any consents the law requires. [REVIEW REQUIRED: whether and when TaxShifterPro itself is a preparer or auxiliary service provider under §7216, and required consent forms.]

AI service providers

Pro'Bot and the prep checklist send the text you submit to an AI model provider through Lovable's AI gateway to generate a response. Before sending, we automatically remove patterns that look like Social Security, ITIN, EIN and account numbers. Do not include sensitive identifiers or documents. [REVIEW REQUIRED: vendor list, data-retention terms of each model provider, and whether data is used for training.]

How we use information

To provide accounts, review professional applications, publish approved professional profiles (without PTIN or license numbers), operate the community and moderation, respond to support requests, keep the service secure, and comply with law. We do not sell personal information. [REVIEW REQUIRED: state-law definitions of sale/sharing, targeted advertising.]

Processors and roles

We use cloud hosting and database providers, an authentication provider, and AI model providers as service providers/processors. Independent professionals are separate businesses responsible for their own handling of client data. [REVIEW REQUIRED: processor list and data processing agreements.]

Retention

We keep account data while your account is open. Pro'Bot history is kept until you delete it or turn history off and clear it. Application and audit records are kept to document verification decisions. [REVIEW REQUIRED: specific retention periods.]

Your choices and rights

You can edit your display name, delete Pro'Bot history, and delete your community posts. See Data Rights for access, correction and deletion requests.

Children

The service is not directed to children under 13. [REVIEW REQUIRED: minimum age.]

Changes and contact
